The number of samples depends on the materials being disturbed and are determined by regulation. Residential Surveys for Demolition permits usually require between fifteen and twenty five samples. Remodeling Surveys generally require fewer samples than for Demolition. Commercial Surveys can vary due to the type and size of structure. Results of asbestos analysis will normally be available by phone two to three business days following sampling unless point counts are necessary. Point counts will add one or two business days. Written reports are generally provided within two to three business days of receiving the lab results. Shorter time frames can be accommodated if required.

Tile or linoleum counts as two samples, one for the material and one for the mastic (glue). Drywall counts as two samples, one for the drywall and one for the joint compound. Textured ceiling on drywall with joint compound counts as three samples. Plaster may count as two or three depending on the number of layers. Most other samples count as only one.

For mail in samples, put each sample in a separate plastic bag such as a sandwich or freezer bag, and mail to Air Allergen & Mold Testing, 2041 Hessian Court Stone Mountain, GA 30087 along with your contact information and a check for $35 per sample. Your contact information should include your name, address, phone number, and email address where the results are to be sent.
